Ashraya Zilla Vikalangula Samakya (AZVS) is a registered society (Reg. No. 210/2015) committed to the empowerment, inclusion, and rights of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs). Founded in Kakinada and now extending its work across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu, AZVS has grown into one of the most trusted grassroots disability networks in South India.
From the very beginning, AZVS was built on the belief that community-led action is the strongest pathway to inclusion. Our journey started with small disability groups at the village level, which over time expanded into 15,000+ groups at the village, panchayat, mandal, and district levels. These groups not only provide a support system but also give PwDs a strong collective voice to claim their rights and shape their futures.
To build an inclusive society where persons with disabilities enjoy equal rights, full participation, and access to quality healthcare, education, and sustainable livelihoods enabling them to live with dignity, independence, and respect.
Our mission is to create awareness on the rights of persons with disabilities under the RPWD Act 2016, the UNCRPD Act 2005, and the NEP Act 2022. We support the formation of self-help groups in villages, promote inclusive marriages for PWDs, offer soft skill training, support mentally ill persons, and create livelihood opportunities to help PWDs become financially independent and lead decent & dignified life.
Over the years, we have initiated a wide range of programs to address the multi-dimensional needs of PwDs.

Soft & Life Skills, Computer training, Spoken English, and Personality Development to boost employability and confidence.
Job fairs, placement drives, self-employment training (soap, tailoring, handicrafts) & Akanksha Kitchen for inclusive livelihoods.
Marriage Melas, para sports, cultural events, and awareness campaigns promoting participation and inclusion.
Aids & appliances distribution, Pinkishe menstrual hygiene kits, health camps, counseling, and tribal accessibility support.
Helping PwDs access government schemes, pensions, rights; collaborating with NGOs & corporates; representing voices nationally.

On June 16, 2025, AZVS Chennai Branch conducted a focused one-on-one counselling and mobilization session led by Ms. Jothi. This initiative provided personalized career guidance and skill development support to 20 Persons with Disabilities (PwDs). Participants were also introduced to AZVS and its programs through a brief presentation. The event helped identify individual skill gaps and inspired attendees to register for training programs.

On June 27, 2025, AZVS branches in Chennai and Hyderabad commemorated Helen Keller Day with cake-cutting ceremonies and motivational sessions. Students learned about Helen Keller's achievements despite her disabilities and were inspired to view their abilities as strengths. The day's activities fostered resilience and empowerment among all participants.

On 8th May 2025, a team from AZVS visited the Association of People with Disability (APD) in Bangalore. The primary purpose was to explore potential collaboration and understand APD's well-structured project models to develop a Livelihood Skill Training initiative for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs). AZVS representatives Mr. Suresh Kumar and Ms. Jothi interacted with key APD officials including Mr. Senthil Kumar (CEO), Mr. Kabui (Project Coordinator), and Ms. Sahana (Livelihood Head). The APD team shared insights into various departments such as Early Intervention and Aids Manufacturing. Templates for employer mapping and community awareness campaigns were promised to be shared. The visit concluded with actionable items including MoU drafting and internal orientation scheduled for June 2025.
