Empowering Persons with Disabilities for Dignified Careers
At Ashraya Zilla Vikalangula Samakya (AZVS), we recognize that menstrual health is not just a hygiene issue — it is a matter of dignity, health, and human rights. Women and girls with disabilities, especially in rural and hill areas, often face additional barriers such as lack of awareness, limited access to sanitary products, stigma, and poor sanitation facilities.
In many tribal and hilly regions, traditional practices and misinformation still lead to unsafe menstrual hygiene methods. Due to poverty, inaccessibility, and social stigma, women with disabilities are at greater risk of infections, isolation, and school or work absenteeism.

confidence, and good health.

awareness, dignity, and confidence among women and girls with disabilities
across rural and tribal communities.
