About the Founder

Visionary Leader in Disability Empowerment

Dr. P. Suresh Kumar is the visionary Founder of Ashraya Zilla Vikalangula Samakya and a respected disability rights leader known for building strong grassroots movements for inclusion and empowerment.

What began as a small community initiative in 2014 has grown into a powerful people-led movement. Driven by the belief that Persons with Disabilities deserve dignity, equal rights, and sustainable livelihoods, he established AZVS with a clear mission — to transform lives through collective strength and systemic change.

Recognizing that real empowerment must start at the grassroots, Dr. Suresh focused on building Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR) structures at village, panchayat, mandal, and district levels — enabling PwDs to organize, understand their rights, access government schemes, and advocate for inclusive policies.

Today the impact is both measurable and meaningful: 30,000+ PwDs and families reached, strong federations across multiple regions, active representation at state and national platforms, and innovative livelihood models such as shadow employment, job carving, and inclusive entrepreneurship.

For Dr. Suresh, empowerment is not charity — it is about rights, leadership, and economic independence.

"When persons with disabilities are given opportunity, leadership, and equal access, they do not just succeed — they transform communities."

— Dr. P. Suresh Kumar
